NEW TO BREAKS?
Your guide to jumping into live breaks
A group break is generally referred to as a group of individuals buying "slots" to receive potential hits and/or cards from the break. The slot is usually a certain team, division, box, packs, but may vary depending on the type of break. This is a fun and affordable way for collectors to potentially receive hits and/or cards from their favorite players or teams without purchasing an entire box or case.
While most of our breaks are scheduled with a set date and time, all spots must be sold before the break can go live. If a break doesn’t sell out, we’ll postpone it to allow more time. If it still doesn’t sell out after the delay, the break will be cancelled and Whatnot will issue you a full refund.
All breaks are recorded and stored within the platform. If you’d like to rewatch your break, just send us a message. We also regularly post highlights on our social media channels.
Personal Breaks: Broken open for one person on the live stream.
Group Mixer Break: Multi-box group break. These breaks are generally the same sport and are multi-year.
Group Case Break: A full, sealed master case of boxes in one break of the same product.
Random Serial Number: “Slots” would receive the hit/card corresponding to the serial number on the item and/or card.
Personal Breaks are broken open for one person on the live stream.
Not all products can be broken live. Selection of products to be broken live may be limited outside of business hours depending on breaker inventory. These products will have the "Break Live" button designated for purchase. Please note the following as it relates to personal breaks: If you do not see the "Break Live" button on a product then it is not a product that is eligible for personal breaks at this time.
Your whole order must have "Break Live" products on it in order to be eligible for a personal break. Once you make your order for a personal break you can either reach out via live stream chat to get yourself scheduled in the virtual queue. You can also email boxbreaks@dacardworld.eu to set up a time and date to have your order broken live. If you are unavailable for your personal break, we can always have your break recorded and email to you. Please email boxbreaks@dacardworld.eu to set this up.
*Note we do not open free gifts during personal breaks.
Breaks that consist of a number of individuals paying the same price for a "slot” in the break. All the teams or divisions involved in the break then would be randomized live on camera. Then, we will randomize the individual's name. When you buy into a random team break, you'll know exactly which team or division you have before the box and case breaking begins. If the box or case has hits/cards from your team, you will receive those cards.
All teams involved in the break would be priced out accordingly. This would be a first come, first served type of break. Each team's price would be determined by the potential hits/cards from the product checklist.
Some breaks may have teams combo together based on the potential hits/cards from the product checklist. If you get a combo team spot you will get all the cards for those teams.
This break uses serial numbers 0-9 or 0-99 and would be a 10 or 100 spot break. Serial numbers on cards are determined the following ways: Serial Numbered Cards – The last number from the left side of a serial number. Here is an example: 09/10 - would go to the customer with #9 in the break. Redemption Cards – If the official checklist does not states what the card is numbered too, then it will be randomized to all participants in the break. If the checklist states the card will be numbered less than 10, then it will be randomized to the eligible participants in the 10 or less spot.
Example: if the card will be serial numbered to 5, then only participants 1-5 will be part of the random for the card live on stream.
Active Player Cards: A card will be awarded to the team name/logo that is listed on the front or back of the card, not the jersey they are wearing. If there is no team name/logo on the card then the card would be awarded to the team city name that is on the card. If a player played for a team that no longer exists, it will go to the team that they became.
Retired Player Cards: A card will be awarded to the team name/logo that is listed on the front or back of the card, not the jersey they are wearing. If the player is in college uniform the card will be awarded to the team they played for the most.If a player is retired, and no jersey is worn or team specified, it will go to the team that the player played the most games for.
Example: Peyton Manning has 208 games played with the Colts and 48 games played with the Broncos. His card would be awarded to the Colts if in college uniform. If a player played for a team that no longer exists, it will go to the team that they became.
We follow the franchise of the team.
Example: If we pulled a Houston Oiler card it would be awarded to the Tennessee Titans. If a player played for a team that no longer exists, it will go to the team that they became.
Cards that have multiple players on it will be randomized at least three times. An individual will receive as many spots as they do players/teams on the card. For example if a person owns two of the three players/teams then they would receive two spots in the randomization of that card, and the other person would receive the third spot.
Winnipeg Jets (PRE 1996) go to Phoenix Atlanta Thrashers go to Winnipeg Jets (EST. 2011) Teams or situations not listed will be randomized in the live stream (eg. special insert card)
Breaks with the "TBA" or To Be Announced tag are breaks that have been listed before and did not sell out on their scheduled date, or they are breaks that were listed with the intent to break as soon as they are sold out. Once the TBA break is sold out, breakers will have the option, depending on their schedule for the day or night, to complete the TBA break. The customer will not be notified when the break takes place. It is the customer's responsibility to watch live streams to stay up to date on the break. All breaks are recorded and posted to YouTube.
